IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: The Board of Supervisors will meet on Wednesday, June 3rd at 6PM at JT Lambert Intermediate School (2000 Milford Rd, East Stroudsburg PA, 18301). Doors open at 5:30PM, and the meeting will occur in the auditorium. This meeting is scheduled to discuss ordinance updates related to the invoked curative amendment process for data centers, data center accessory uses, and disaster recovery facilities.

The Township is dedicating this page to the development of an update to the Zoning Ordinance criteria on the Data Center, Data Center Accessory Use, Disaster Recovery Facility use(s) to encourage community input and feedback. This page will serve as the primary source of public documents utilized in the ordinance discussions.

If you would like Word versions of any document, or would like to submit feedback, comments, concerns, or join the mailing list for this ordinance development, please email Conservation & Recreation Director Alex Jackson at alex@smithfieldtownship.com or attend a public meeting. All public hearings or meetings are streamed via YouTube and are accessible via Zoom. In-person attendance is also welcome.

The hearing on the advertised ordinance, which updated the Smithfield Township Code of Ordinances, took place on October 22, 2025, and it passed. Thank you to everyone who participated.

The hearing on the advertised ordinance amending a previously adopted ordinance within the Smithfield Township Code of Ordinances will take place on April 22, 2026, at 6:00 PM.
