Pool Vouchers Now Available
|
|
|
|
|
Residents of Smithfield Township can now pick up a free 2026 pool voucher at the Municipal Center for discounted resident-rate admission to both Dansbury Pool and the Stroudsburg Pool. This updated dual-pass voucher may be used for daily admission or season passes.
Proof of residency is required when picking up your voucher.
Vouchers may be used for individual, senior, or family passes, including season memberships.
Tentative pool season dates are June 6 through August 23 (subject to change).

Special Meeting to be Held June 3rd
|
|
|
|
|
Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 3rd at 6PM at JT Lambert Intermediate School (2000 Milford Rd, East Stroudsburg PA, 18301). Doors open at 5:30PM, and we’ll meet in the auditorium. The meeting won’t go past 9:30PM; we have to break down everything and be out of the building by 10PM.
This meeting is scheduled for the sole purpose of discussing a draft curative amendment related to data centers.
This meeting is not the conditional use hearing for the proposed data center at Smithfield Gateway. We’re still finalizing dates for the conditional use hearing, and we will send along those dates once firm.

With summer rapidly approaching, our parks are beginning to buzz with activity!
Please note that the $10 daily fee for out-of-county visitors remains in effect. The only exception is for non-residents attending approved park events, including sporting events and township-sponsored or affiliated activities.
Pavilion rentals are also available for summer gatherings. To reserve a space, call 570.223.5082 x 6 to speak with Conservation & Recreation Director Alex Jackson, Ph.D., or email alex@smithfieldtownship.com.

EAC Update: Civic Engagement & Hikes Abound
|
|

On May 2nd, twelve members of the community, along with the Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) took an adventurous educational hike to Thunder Swamp. The day had perfect weather, waterfalls, and stunning wetlands. Stay tuned for future educational hike announcements by the Environmental Advisory Council.

The EAC is thrilled to announce our new date for the Pick Up the Poconos road clean-up! Join us on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 9:30 AM.

Community Garden Has A New Look
|
|
|
|
|
Smithfield Township has 8 new community garden beds available beginning in early June 2026. The beds are approximately 3.5 feet wide by 10 feet long and contain topsoil. Volunteering to care for a garden bed is free.
Beds will be offered to Smithfield Township residents first on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of two beds per person for the time being.

A Summer Night at Waterfront Park
Join Smithfield Township for an evening of outdoor fun at Waterfront Park on Friday, July 31, 2026, beginning at 8:00 p.m.
Enjoy free snacks, a bug safari, stargazing, and more as we explore the wonders of nature after dark. This family-friendly program is a great opportunity to learn about the nighttime environment, discover local insects and wildlife, and take in the beauty of the summer sky.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket and spend a relaxing evening around the campfire while enjoying s’mores and hands-on activities for all ages.
