Smithfield Township’s Trunk or Treat Returns!

We are still enjoying a wonderful summer, but fall is drawing near. It is never too early to plan fall fun!

The team at Smithfield Township is excited to announce the return of our Trunk or Treat event! It is back and better than ever. Expect candy, costumes, pumpkin painting, a sensory table, trunk contest, refreshments, and more!

Update to Parks Admissions Policy. Effective immediately, the parks admission fee for out-of-county visitors is $10 per person and in effect for Minisink Park, Marshalls Falls Park, & River's Edge Bike Park. Residents of Monroe County will continue to enjoy all three parks FOR FREE.

As a result of the Board of Supervisors Meeting earlier this month, there is a $10 per person admission fee to Minisink, Marshalls Falls, & River’s Edge Bike Parks for all out-of-county visitors. Residents of Monroe County will continue to enjoy both parks FOR FREE.

Acceptable payment methods include Square (for debit/credit chip cards or tap-to-pay) and cash.

Department of Public Works In Action

It has been a busy paving season in Smithfield. The Department of Public Works is using innovative planning and techniques to get additional miles paved. Here they are seen paving Greenbriar Rd.

While paving, it is essential to remain hydrated and mindful of the heat, as the newly laid asphalt reaches up to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Once poured, an asphalt roller is used to smooth over the pavement while it cools. The newly paved roads are scheduled to have lines painted in the upcoming weeks.

The start of Fall Leaf Pick-Up is set to begin right after paving season closes. Look for that to begin in mid-October, but check back for dates next month.

There is no shortage of opportunities to support our first responders in the coming weeks! Whether you like to dance, golf, or just plain socialize, you can do so and help preserve our emergency services.
