The Environmental Advisory Council is seeking interested individuals for one voting member and alternate members. Those interested are encouraged to submit a resume and letter of interest to Dr. Alex Jackson, Conservation & Recreation Director by December 22nd.

The purpose of the Environmental Advisory Council shall be to advise local governmental agencies, including but not limited to the Board of Supervisors and the Planning Commission, on matters dealing with the protection, conservation, management, promotion, acquisition, and use of natural resources. These natural resources include air, land, water, and open space located within or affecting Smithfield Township.

The Environmental Advisory Council is to be advisory to and shall coordinate its activities with the Board of Supervisors and the Planning Commission.

The Board of Supervisors is expected to make appointments at their reorganization meeting in January.
