Fireworks Show at Shawnee Mountain
Our annual fireworks show at Shawnee Mountain was a huge success!! We were able to raise just shy of $18,000.00 for the benefit of the fire company. We would like to thank our generous host – Shawnee Mountain, for providing us the opportunity to realize such a great benefit. We would like to also thank all of residents and visitors who came out in support of Shawnee Mountain and the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company. This money will go a long way in training and outfitting our volunteers.
Wednesday, September 24th – Annual Fundraising Golf Tournament at Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort
$100.00 per player includes golf, prizes for flight winners, and dinner following golf. Tee sponsors are also available at $100.00 each.
These two fundraisers are our largest events of the year that afford the fire company the ability to equip and train our members for the challenges that the fire service experiences in the current environment. We would like to thank those that have supported these events in the past and our generous hosts for each of these events being Shawnee Mountain and Shawnee Inn.
The Fire Company is currently managing its long-term plan by scheduling some much needed repairs and updating of our buildings with funds provided through the fire tax. Some of those repairs have taken place by replacing and painting one of our garage doors and re-staining our fence at the Worthington Avenue station.
At our main station on Hollow Road:
-
We have finished the repairs to the wood siding, soffit, and fascia in preparation for the painting of the building.
-
The building has been painted and looks amazing.
-
We are also replacing the signs at the entrance of the station.
-
We have updated and replaced our security cameras around the Hollow Road station.
-
We are currently soliciting bids for the re-paving of our parking lot. It is failing structurally and to minimize the larger long-term expense, we needed to move this project up on our list.
We would like to thank the Smithfield Township Supervisors and the constituents of the Township for your continued support of the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company.
