Minisink Park, located at 44 River Rd, will experience partial closures during the week of July 31st while dead trees are removed from around the fields and walking trail. This partial closure affects ONLY the side of Minisink Park with the concession stand – the fields on the far side of the tracks will be unaffected. The township is in active communication with all sports teams that use the fields: this partial closure will not affect any practice schedules.
A tree service will be actively cutting trees in the park Monday, July 31st – Friday, August 4th, roughly from 7AM to 5PM. Depending on weather, this partial closure may extend into the week after.
Starting Monday, the front of the park and fields will be accessible during normal hours (and afterwards for practices), but the walking trail will be entirely closed for tree removal.
Weather permitting, the entire side of the park with the concession stand will close on Thursday, August 3rd while dead trees surrounding the fields are removed. Barricades will be set up in such a way that cars can turn into the park and then turn around; this prevents anyone from having to reverse onto River Rd.
Please respect all signage and do not attempt to cross into closed areas of the park.
As this work is weather dependent, time frames and closures may shift unexpectedly. Please be extra vigilant while in the area. This post will update to reflect any changes in scheduling.
