A 60th Anniversary celebration is an achievement that most grassroots, nonprofits do not get to achieve. Bushkill Emergency Corps having reached that milestone is something worth celebrating! And celebrate we will!
The 60th Anniversary Gala Dinner event will be held on Saturday, November 15th at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort. As is the tradition with our Gala event, there will be great food, music, a bit of live entertainment, a silent auction, and a night of thanks. To make the celebration more special, Bushkill Emergency Corps welcomes any past members or providers to attend and join in our celebration. (Past members or providers, please either email or Facebook message your current address.) There will be more information to come, but make sure you “Save the Date”!
Great news! Bushkill Emergency Corps, with the help of Smithfield Township (Thank you Smithfield for the wonderful help completing and submitting our application!) as well as the support of Middle Smithfield Township, Senator Rosemary Brown, Representatives Tarah Probst and Maureen Madden, was selected as one of the recipients of a Local Share Account (LSA) grant. An LSA grant is a statewide grant originating from The PA Racehorse Development and Gaming Act (Act 2004-71). It provides for distribution of gaming revenues through the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support projects in the public interest within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The organization was awarded $100,000 toward the purchase of three power stretcher units. Each unit will cost about $68,000 and will become vital to the safety of both patients and providers as the stretchers will be power lifted and loaded into our ambulances. The safety feature of not having to manually lift a patient or unload a patient manually benefits both the patient and our providers. These are welcome additions indeed!
And don’t forget to “Save the Date” November 15!
