April 2024

New Team Members

Smithfield Township is off to a roaring start this year! As new staff are on-boarded, we are thrilled about the increase in community engagement and efficiency the new capacity offers.

Join us in welcoming Dyana Salvi, our new Administrative Coordinator, Dr. Alex Jackson, our new Conservation & Recreation Director, and Michael Albert, our newest Supervisor!

Pictured to the left, Dyana is your primary contact at the Township. Her duties include maintaining the public presence of the Township. Dyana’s background with interpersonal skills development will enable faster, friendlier, and efficient experiences when doing business with the Township.

In the center, Alex is the face of our Township’s park system and conservation efforts. Alex’s unique experience in non-profits and environmental education will foster public engagement in our parks. This includes passive and active recreational opportunities.

Michael Albert is Smithfield’s newest Supervisor! Michael brings a wealth of experience with a background in business and non-profits. He currently operates ShawneeCraft Brewery. Michael and his family reside in Shawnee on Delaware.

On March 14th, Supervisor Chair Jacob Pride and Township Manager Julia Heilakka attended a meet and greet about local issues with Girl Scout Troop 51005. They were joined by State Rep. Probst, Monroe County Commissioners Christy, Laverdure, and Parker, ESASD Board Member Ketih Karkut, and East Stroudsburg Borough Council Member Carrie Panepinto. It was an inspiring discussion. Smithfield Township is honored to participate with local organizations.
