A Smithfield Township, by state statute, created the Smithfield Sewer Authority to administer the public sanitary sewer system in the Township. The Authority is comprised of five members, its Engineer and Solicitor, as well as its Assistant Secretary & Right-to-Know Officer. Members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors for a five-year term.
