Smithfield Township was awarded a grant by the Community Conservation Partnerships Program administered by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) to create a Master Site Plan for Rivers Edge Bike Park.
The development of a Master Site Plan will help the Township seek public input, assess conditions and analyze context, and ultimately define a park design and implementation plan to guide future investment. The completed Master Site Plan will set a long-term vision for proposed park improvements and help the Township determine the most cohesive path toward project completion. In addition to creating a funding and implementation plan, the Master Site Plan will create a platform for community engagement and increase the promotion of the park as well as invite the potential for building partnerships.
During the planning process, the community will be engaged to attend meetings and participate in a public survey and their ideas, concerns, and suggestions will play a valuable role in the final design of the park. Gaining public feedback will not only help the Township identify highly desired recreational amenities but also ensure that diverse needs are being met.
