The three-member Board of Auditors is responsible for two key functions: settling and adjusting Township accounts for each calendar year and setting the compensation for Supervisors that hold appointed offices. Members are elected for six-year terms. By resolution, the Board of Supervisors, the auditing function of elected Auditors may be assigned to and conducted by an Independent CPA firm. The Board of Auditors holds a regular meeting yearly. The main responsibility at the annual meeting is the review and acceptance of the audit. Presently, Smithfield Township utilizes Kirk, Suma, & Co.
